The first-ever Togo GRIT (Flagship Technological Innovation Event in Togo) Summit will take place in Lomé, 29–30 October 2025, showcasing Togo’s emergence as one of Africa’s fastest-growing hubs for technology and innovation.

Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation of Togo, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ – Germany), the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg, and the European Union through GIZ Togo, this summit will bring together startups, investors, policymakers, and ecosystem leaders from across the continent and beyond to strengthen connections with Togo’s innovation ecosystem.

The summit will highlight high-potential startups at different stages of growth, from pre-seed to scale, through curated pitch sessions.

In addition, the program will feature keynotes and panel discussions led by prominent voices in business, technology, and investment, providing a platform to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and unlock new opportunities.

FAQ: Travelling to Togo

Frequently asked questions

Togo’s only international airport is Lomé–Tokoin International Airport (LFW) in the capital, Lomé. Several airlines offer direct flights there:

ASKY Airlines operates around 70% of flights to Togo. It serves routes from many African cities including Accra, Abidjan, Lagos, Nairobi, Dakar, and Douala Flight Connections.

Ethiopian Airlines has service from Addis Ababa to Lomé, and is also a key regional connector Flight Connections Financial Times.

Additionally, other carriers operate from Europe and the U.S., such as flights from Paris, Brussels, Washington D.C., and Newark Flight Connections.

Visa rules vary by nationality:

ECOWAS citizens (Economic Community of West African States) are visa-exempt and can enter without a visa ivisatravel.com.

Citizens of about 15 countries can visit visa-free; 3 more are eligible for visa-on-arrival; around 214 countries qualify for an e-visa; and 6 countries must obtain a visa in advance Visa List.

The e-visa must be applied for online, at least 5 days prior to travel, via Togo's official government portal World Travel Guide.

For South African citizens:
- You do not need a visa visarequirements.info.
- However, some sources say an entry visa on arrival is needed for up to 7 days and recommend applying in advance Travelstart VisaHQ Visa List.
