Service Description

"I founded E-BLOOD in 2023 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, following a deeply personal tragedy the loss of my mother because we couldn’t find a compatible blood bag in time. That painful experience opened my eyes to a major public health crisis: in the DRC, over 1.2 million patients need blood transfusions each year, yet nearly 20,000 people die due to the lack of real-time information on blood availability and the absence of efficient logistics to deliver it when needed. To address this urgent challenge, I created E-BLOOD, a healthtech startup using innovation to save lives. Through our main solution, E-Blood Bank Makila, we digitally connect blood banks and hospitals via a mobile, web, and USSD platform that allows users to: check real-time blood stock levels by blood group, make electronic payments quickly and transparently, and request fast and secure deliveries using drones, refrigerated motorcycles, and solar-powered smart coolers. Our goal is simple: to make blood accessible anytime and anywhere, especially for pregnant women, anemic children, and emergency patients. By combining the Internet of Things (IoT) and renewable energy, E-BLOOD ensures the traceability, safety, and optimal preservation of blood between 2°C and 6°C throughout the supply chain. Through this initiative, my vision is to build a connected digital health ecosystem where technology serves humanity ensuring that no one in Congo, nor anywhere in Africa, dies because of a lack of blood."
