JUnior Product Manager – AfricArena Wired App & Web Platforms

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Management – AfricArena Wired App

Plan and oversee the implementation of new features on the AfricArena Wired platform.
Coordinate with developers to ensure timely deployment of updates and improvements.
Gather and respond to user feedback to enhance platform usability and relevance.
Track platform usage, performance metrics, and bugs.
Maintain a clear product roadmap aligned with business goals.

2. Website Management (Wix)

Maintain and update AfricArena’s main website and project microsites hosted on Wix.
Design and build new sections/pages in line with campaigns and events.
Ensure website content is always current, mobile-optimized, and SEO-friendly.
Collaborate with internal teams to reflect brand and messaging priorities online.

3. Design & UX/UI Oversight

Create and iterate on design mockups using tools like Canva or Figma.
Support development and marketing teams with clear user journeys and design briefs.
Ensure consistency across app, web, and digital collateral.

4. YouTube Channel & Video Content Management

Manage AfricArena’s YouTube channel: uploading videos, writing descriptions, tagging, and optimizing thumbnails.
Cut and lightly edit raw video content from events, founder talks, and panels for publishing.
Create highlight clips and playlists to boost discoverability and engagement.
Track video performance and recommend improvements to drive reach and retention.
Collaborate with the marketing team on cross-platform content repurposing.

5. Stakeholder & Platform Management

Serve as the lead coordinator for all matters related to digital platforms and content.
Prepare and present monthly performance and enhancement reports.
Assist team members and external partners with onboarding and usage of platforms.
Ensure platform messaging and branding are consistent and high-quality across touchpoints

Skills and compentencies required

Degree in Product Management, Digital Media, Design, or a related field.
3+ years’ experience in digital product management, website management, or similar roles.
Proficiency in Wix (required), Canva/Figma, and video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, iMovie, Premiere Rush, etc.).
Familiarity with YouTube Creator Studio and video optimization best practices.
Solid understanding of app development cycles and user experience design.
Experience managing timelines, development teams, and multiple digital assets.
Highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented.
Knowledge of the African tech ecosystem is a plus.
Curious, accountable, and driven by impact.

Requirements

We are looking for a proactive and tech-savvy Product Manager to take ownership of the AfricArena Wired App and web platforms. This role is ideal for someone who understands product workflows and digital tools, is passionate about innovation, and enjoys working across cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for managing the roadmap of the AfricArena Wired platform and ensuring a seamless experience for startups, investors, and partners. You will also oversee the maintenance and enhancement of our websites (hosted on Wix), ensuring they stay updated, user-friendly, and visually engaging.

This role requires design sensibility, project coordination skills, familiarity with app ecosystems, and the ability to manage technical teams—without necessarily writing code.
