"Founded in 2023 and based in Nairobi, Investa Farm is an agritech startup solving one of the biggest barriers in agriculture: the lack of collateral for women and youth farmers, which prevents them from accessing affordable credit and quality inputs. Our mission is to unlock fair and inclusive agricultural financing by creating digital collateral that farmers can use to access the resources they need to produce more and earn more. Investa Farm was inspired by the reality that traditional lenders require physical collateral — land, machinery, title deeds — assets that young people and most women farmers rarely own. This locks them out of the credit system and limits their ability to scale farming. Our core solution is the iFarm Token, a digital representation of a farmer’s future produce, which acts as secure, verifiable collateral. We issue input vouchers backed by this collateral, enabling farmers to access seeds, fertilizers, and other inputs through partner agri-stores without needing physical assets."
