​Role Description

​

This is an hybrid internship role for an IT intern. The role is located in Century City, Cape Town The IT intern will be responsible for supporting AfricArena's technical needs, including ensuring smooth operation of platforms (e.g., the accelerator’s app Wired), and manage data through CRM tools. The intern would also assist with website updates, manage basic cybersecurity measures, and provide on-ground tech support during events if necessary. The ideal candidate would be pursuing or have completed a degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, with skills in networking, web development, and cloud services being advantageous.​​

Responsibilities:

• Support the development and maintenance of internal platforms or event apps (like Wired, if relevant).
  Assist in the setup, management, and support of virtual or hybrid event platforms.

• Assist in the management of databases, ensuring accuracy in data collection for startups, partners, and investors.
  Generate reports from CRM systems to track program success and participant engagement.

• Assist with website updates, fixing bugs, or ensuring the site is optimized for events.
  Provide support in managing the accelerator’s online presence by ensuring IT integrations with social media and marketing tools.

• Provide on-ground IT assistance during demo days, matchmaking sessions, and other key accelerator events.
  Set up and maintain AV systems for presentations and virtual participation.

• Support any IT-related projects such as digitization efforts, virtual event integrations, or accelerator program tools.
