​​Key Responsibilities

 

1. Digital Marketing & Campaign Execution

  • Plan and execute multi-platform digital marketing campaigns (email, web, social media, and paid media).
     

  • Manage content calendars and ensure alignment with event timelines and brand objectives.
     

  • Track and analyze campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, etc.
     

  • Optimize campaigns based on KPIs (engagement, conversions, audience growth, etc.).
     

2. Copywriting & Content Creation

  • Write and publish 4 blog posts per month focused on tech, innovation, investment, and ecosystem news and our startups.
     

  • Create compelling copy for AfricArena’s weekly newsletter and Methys’ quarterly newsletter.
     

  • Develop content for social media, websites, pitch decks, brochures, and event materials.
     

  • Assist in reading and writing adhoc reports, including post-event reports, program summaries, and insights documents.
     

  • Ensure brand voice consistency across all platforms.
     

3. Social Media Management

  • Maintain and grow AfricArena’s presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, and YouTube with the support of our marking associate 

  • Engage with community members, startups, partners, and VCs in real time to get quote or feedback on certain content pieces 

  • Curate and repurpose content from events, summits, and ecosystem partners.
     

4. Event Support

  • Collaborate with the events team on digital communication campaigns pre- and post-events.

  • Assist in live-tweeting, event coverage, and post-event content packaging.

  • Coordinate with media partners and press where needed.

  • Curate and Collect a database of Media Partners and Ecosystems to engage with, when we need amplification
     

5. Collaboration with Methys

  • Work closely with the Methys team on content creation, including quarterly newsletters and reports.
     

  • Support joint initiatives and digital storytelling across both AfricArena and Methys platforms.

Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
     

  • 3+ years’ experience in digital marketing, content creation, and social media.
     

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
     

  • Proficient in Canva, Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, and scheduling tools.
     

  • Experience with blogs, newsletters, and report writing.
     

  • Familiarity with the African tech/startup ecosystem is a plus.
